Umumnya, there digunakan untuk:
- menunjukkan lokasi sesuatu terjadi
- menunjukkan lokasi seseorang/sesuatu
- menunjukkan keberadaan seseorang/sesuatu
He is there.
= Dia ada di sana.
(there = di sana)
My car is there.
= Mobilku ada di sana.
(there = di sana)
I went there yesterday.
= Aku pergi ke sana kemarin.
(there = ke sana)
There is a man at the bus stop.
= Ada seseorang di halte bus.
(there = ada)
There is a book on the table
= Ada buku di atas meja.
(there = ada)
