Well, today we're going to meet a little dinosaur who's nervous about her first day of school.
Hari ini kita akan bertemu dinosaurus kecil yang gugup menghadapi hari pertamanya di sekolah.

Penelope Rex was nervous.
Penelope Rex gugup.
It's not every day a little T. rex starts school.
Tidak setiap hari T. rex kecil mulai masuk sekolah.
"What are my classmates going to be like?"
“Seperti apa ya teman-teman sekelasku nanti?”
"Will they be nice?"
“Apa mereka ramah?”
"How many teeth will they have?"
“Berapa gigi mereka?”
This was very important.
Itu sangat penting baginya.
Penelope's mom bought her a new backpack with ponies on it.
Ibu Penelope membelikannya tas ransel baru bergambar kuda poni.
Ponies were Penelope's favorite because ponies are delicious.
Kuda poni adalah favorit Penelope, karena rasanya lezat.
Penelope's dad packed her a lunch of 300 tuna sandwiches and one apple juice.
Ayah Penelope menyiapkan bekal berisi 300 roti isi tuna dan satu jus apel.
Finally, the big day came.
Akhirnya, tibalah hari besar itu.
And Penelope Rex was very surprised to find out that all of her classmates were children.
Penelope Rex sangat terkejut saat mengetahui semua teman sekelasnya adalah anak-anak.
Because children are delicious.
Karena anak-anak itu lezat.
"Penelope Rex," said Mrs. Noodleman.
“Penelope Rex,” kata Bu Noodleman.
"We don't eat our classmates. Please spit them out at once."
“Kita tidak makan teman sekelas kita. Segera keluarkan mereka dari mulutmu.”
So she did.
Penelope pun melakukannya.
It was not the best way to start school.
Itu jelas bukan cara terbaik memulai sekolah.
Still, Penelope was determined to have a good first day.
Tapi, Penelope tetap bertekad menjalani hari pertama dengan baik.
She tried hard to make friends at recess.
Dia berusaha keras mencari teman saat istirahat.
She finger-painted some of her best work.
Dia melukis dengan jari hasil karyanya yang terbaik.
She even saved Griffin Emery a seat at lunch.
Bahkan, dia menyisakan tempat duduk untuk Griffin Emery saat makan siang.
"You can sit here."
“Kamu boleh duduk di sini.”
Penelope started to notice everyone was making friends but her.
Penelope mulai sadar bahwa semua orang punya teman, kecuali dirinya.
It was lonely.
Ia merasa kesepian.
When she got home, her dad asked her about her first day of school.
Saat pulang, ayahnya bertanya tentang hari pertamanya di sekolah.
"I didn't make any friends," Penelope cried.
“Aku tidak punya teman,” tangis Penelope.
"None of the children wanted to play with me."
“Tidak ada yang mau bermain denganku.”
"Penelope Rex," her father asked, "Did you eat your classmates?"
“Penelope Rex,” tanya ayahnya, “Apa kamu makan teman sekelasmu?”
"Well... maybe. Sort of. Just a little bit."
“Yah... mungkin. Sedikit. Hanya sedikit saja.”
"Sometimes it's hard to make friends," said her dad,
“Kadang memang susah berteman,” kata ayahnya,
"Especially if you eat them.
“Apalagi kalau kamu memakan mereka.
You see, Penelope, children are just the same as us on the inside — just tastier."
“Lihat, Penelope, anak-anak sama saja seperti kita di dalam — hanya saja lebih enak.”
That gave Penelope a lot to think about.
Itu membuat Penelope banyak berpikir.
The next day, Penelope tried really hard.
Keesokan harinya, Penelope berusaha lebih keras lagi.
But poor Penelope...
Tapi kasihan Penelope...
She could not stop herself from eating her classmates.
Dia tetap tidak bisa menahan diri untuk tidak makan teman-temannya.
"Mrs. Noodleman! Penelope ate William Omoto — again!"
“Bu Noodleman! Penelope makan William Omoto — lagi!”
And they were all afraid of her.
Dan semua anak jadi takut padanya.
Except Walter.
Kecuali Walter.
Walter was a goldfish.
Walter adalah seekor ikan mas.
So Penelope tried to make friends with him.
Penelope mencoba berteman dengannya.
"Will you be my friend?"
“Maukah kamu jadi temanku?”
CHOMP!
“HAP!”
Cried Penelope, "He's eating my fingers!"
Teriak Penelope, “Dia menggigit jariku!”
Once Penelope found out what it was like to be someone's snack, she lost her appetite for children.
Begitu Penelope merasakan bagaimana rasanya jadi camilan, dia langsung kehilangan selera terhadap anak-anak.
She stopped eating her classmates.
Dia berhenti makan teman-temannya.
Even when Cece Woodman spilled barbecue sauce all over herself.
Bahkan saat Cece Woodman menumpahkan saus barbekyu ke seluruh tubuhnya.
And soon, Penelope made friends.
Tak lama kemudian, Penelope pun punya teman.
"Found you!"
“Ketemu!”
"Want a brownie? I helped make them."
“Mau kue cokelat? Aku ikut buatnya.”
Now, even when children look especially delicious,
Sekarang, bahkan saat anak-anak terlihat sangat lezat,
She peeks at Walter and remembers what it's like when someone tries to eat you.
Dia akan melirik Walter dan mengingat rasanya saat ada yang mencoba memakanmu.
And Walter the goldfish stares right back at her and licks his lips.
Dan Walter si ikan mas menatap balik sambil menjilat bibirnya.
Because dinosaurs are delicious.
Karena dinosaurus itu lezat.
Penelope found out that if you want to make friends, you have to be nice — and definitely don't eat them.
Penelope akhirnya tahu, kalau ingin berteman kamu harus bersikap baik — dan tentu saja tidak boleh makan mereka.
